CalAtlantic Homes has an amazing team.  We were very impressed and humbled to be able to spend some time sharing some knowledge with the best in the business.

The event started off with the best environmental testing company in California, Allstate Environmental Solutions.  If you need mold, lead, and or asbestos testing or consulting, look no further that AES.

Even new homes have water damage.  Due to the amazing advances in weather proofing, the homes being built today are more insulated and waterproof than ever.  A side effect from these great new energy efficient and weather proofed structures is that when water leaks inside the property, it does not escape.  This causes more mold problems in newer homes vs. the older homes.  This is why drying out flooded properties correctly is more important today than it has ever been.

With all the new knowledge passed around with CalAtlantic in San Diego, we made sure to point out the most important part of handling flood, fire, and mold emergencies:  CUSTOMER SERVICE! This is the area that CalAtlantic excels with your new homes.  Even with the amazing home product they provide, their people and care are what leads this company beyond the other home builders in the industry.
For most jobs and especially mold or category 2 and 3 jobs, a containment should be installed.

In order to dry out properties correctly, the equipment must be set up properly.  Always use a dehumidifier as the first piece of equipment.  If the flood is larger, then air movers are added.  Air movers are installed to create a drying vortex.  All must be facing clockwise and per the layout of the attached diagram.
